आज हों राजकाज करी आँऊँ । बेग संघारूँ सकल घोष शिशु जो मुख आइसो पाऊँ ॥१॥ मोहन मूर्छन बसीकरन पढ़ि अगनित देह बढाऊँ। अंग सुभग है मधु मूरती सजी नैनन माँझ समाँऊँ ॥२॥ घसि कंकोल चढ़ाय उरोजनि लै लै रुचिसों प्याऊँ । सूर सोच मन अबही हरि हों तो पूतना कहाऊँ ॥३॥

आज हों राजकाज करी आँऊँ ।
बेग संघारूँ सकल घोष शिशु जो मुख आइसो पाऊँ ॥१॥
“Today I will go and do the king's work; quickly I will destroy every infant in the cowherd settlement whom I find before me” ॥१॥

मोहन मूर्छन बसीकरन पढ़ि अगनित देह बढाऊँ।
अंग सुभग है मधु मूरती सजी नैनन माँझ समाँऊँ ॥२॥
“Having learned spells of enchantment, stupefaction, and control, I will enlarge countless forms. My limbs are beautiful, my sweet form is adorned, and I will enter their eyes” ॥२॥

घसि कंकोल चढ़ाय उरोजनि लै लै रुचिसों प्याऊँ ।
सूर सोच मन अबही हरि हों तो पूतना कहाऊँ ॥३॥
“I will grind kankol and apply it to my breasts, then feed them with seeming affection.” Sur says, she thought in her mind, “If Hari is there, then I will be called Putana” ॥३॥

beg sanghaaroon sakal ghosh shishu jo mukh aaiso paaoon ||1||

mohan moorchhan baseekaran parhi aganit deh badhaaoon |
ang subhag hai madhu mooratee sajee nainan maanjh samaanoon ||2||

ghasi kankol charhaay urojani lai lai ruchison pyaaoon |
soor soch man abahee hari hon to pootanaa kahaaoon ||3||
