अरी तू काहे अनमनी बोलतनाहिं बुलायें ॥ अवलोंतो तू हसत खेलतही कहाभयो मोहिं आये ॥१॥ नयन नीचेंकियें चितवन रुखदियें तिरछिभ्रुंह चढायें ॥ रसिक-प्रीतमपिय कबके ठाडे विनवत हे परपायें ॥२॥

अरी तू काहे अनमनी बोलतनाहिं बुलायें ॥ अवलोंतो तू हसत खेलतही कहाभयो मोहिं आये ॥१॥  
O friend, why are you so withdrawn? You do not speak even when called. Until now you were laughing and playing—what has happened since I came? ॥१॥

नयन नीचेंकियें चितवन रुखदियें तिरछिभ्रुंह चढायें ॥ रसिक-प्रीतमपिय कबके ठाडे विनवत हे परपायें ॥२॥  
You keep your eyes lowered, turn your gaze away, and raise your brows sideways. Your rasik Beloved has been standing there for so long, pleading with you and falling at your feet. ॥२॥

aree too kaahe anamanee bolatanaahin bulaayen ||
avalonto too hasat khelatahee kahaabhayo mohin aaye ||1||

nayan neechenkiyen chitavan rukhadiyen tirachhibhrunh chadhaayen ||
rasik-preetamapiy kabake thaade vinavat he parapaayen ||2||
