बरखत मेघ मोर पिक बोलत लागत बूंद सुहाई ॥ तब गिरिधर पिय गोड रागकर मद मंद ध्वनी गाई ॥१॥ कसुंभी चीर देख मेरो भीजे तब गोपाल उर लाई ॥ या सुखकी बतियां सुन सजनी मोपें बरनी न जाई ॥२॥ कनक लता श्रीराधा भामिनी श्याम तमाल अरुझाई ॥ कृष्णदास प्रभु गिरिधर नागर अधर माधुरी प्याई ॥

बरखत मेघ मोर पिक बोलत लागत बूंद सुहाई ॥ तब गिरिधर पिय गोड रागकर मद मंद ध्वनी गाई ॥१॥
The clouds pour down, while peacocks and cuckoos call, and the falling raindrops feel delightful. Then Giridhar Piya sings in a deep raga, in a soft and gentle voice. ॥१॥

कसुंभी चीर देख मेरो भीजे तब गोपाल उर लाई ॥ या सुखकी बतियां सुन सजनी मोपें बरनी न जाई ॥२॥
Seeing my saffron-colored garment drenched, Gopal drew me close with care. O sakhi, the joy of that moment cannot be described by me. ॥२॥

कनक लता श्रीराधा भामिनी श्याम तमाल अरुझाई ॥ कृष्णदास प्रभु गिरिधर नागर अधर माधुरी प्याई ॥
Shri Radha, radiant like a golden creeper, rests gracefully beside dark Shyam, like a creeper upon a tamal tree. Krishnadas says: Prabhu Giridhar Nagar bestows the sweetness of His words.

barakhat megh mor pik bolat laagat boond suhaaee ||
tab Giridhar piy god raagakar mad mand dhvanee gaaee ||1||

kasumbhee cheer dekh mero bheeje tab Gopaal ur laaee ||
yaa sukhakee batiyaan sun sajanee mopen baranee na jaaee ||2||

kanak lataa Shree-Raadhaa bhaaminee shyaam tamaal arujhaaee ||
krishnadaas prabhu Giridhar naagar adhar maadhuree pyaaee ||
