धौरीकौ पय पीजै हो गोपाल जासौं तेरी बैनी बढ़ै । सब लरिकनमें सुनि सुंदर सुत तुव शिर अधिक चढ़ै ॥१॥ देखि देखि और व्रजबालिक बलि और बच्छ बढ़ै ॥ कंस केशी सब बैरिनके उर अनुदिन अनल दढ़ै ॥२॥ छिनु अँचवत छिनुहीं छिनु टटोवत ऐसेही जनन रढ़ै । सूरदास मुसिकाय यशोदा शिरतें काड़ी न कढ़ै ॥३॥

धौरीकौ पय पीजै हो गोपाल जासौं तेरी बैनी बढ़ै । सब लरिकनमें सुनि सुंदर सुत तुव शिर अधिक चढ़ै ॥१॥
“O Gopal, drink the milk of the white cow, so that your little braid may grow longer. Listen, my beautiful son, among all the children, your head will rise higher than the rest.” ॥१॥

देखि देखि और व्रजबालिक बलि और बच्छ बढ़ै ॥ कंस केशी सब बैरिनके उर अनुदिन अनल दढ़ै ॥२॥
“Seeing you, the other children of Vraj will grow, and the calves too will grow. Meanwhile, in the hearts of Kansa, Keshi, and all your enemies, the fire will burn more fiercely day by day.” ॥२॥

छिनु अँचवत छिनुहीं छिनु टटोवत ऐसेही जनन रढ़ै । सूरदास मुसिकाय यशोदा शिरतें काड़ी न कढ़ै ॥३॥
One moment, the mother feeds him milk; the next moment, she feels his hair to see how much it has grown. In this way, she lovingly persists. Surdas says that Yashoda smiles, for the little braid still does not grow out from his head. ॥३॥
