कदमतर ठाडे श्रीमदन गोपाल ॥ शीश टिपारो कटि लाल काछिनी उर वैजयंती माल ॥१॥
Shri Madan Gopal stands beneath the kadamba tree. A tiparo adorns His head, a red kachhini is at His waist, and a Vaijayanti garland rests upon His chest. ॥१॥

राग मल्हार अलापत सप्त सुर गावत गान रसाल ॥ सूरदास प्रभुकी छबि निरखत मोहि रही व्रजबाल ॥२॥
He intones Raga Malhar, singing sweetly in all seven notes. Surdas says: beholding Prabhu’s beauty, the young women of Vraj remain enchanted. ॥२॥

sheesh tipaaro kati laal kaachhinee ur vaijayantee maal ||1||

raag malhaar alaapat sapt sur gaavat gaan rasaal ||
Soordaas prabhukee chhabi nirakhat mohi rahee vrajabaal ||2||
