केसे बने जमुना असनान ॥ नंदको सुत तीर बेठ्यो बड़ो चतुर सुजान ॥१॥ हारतोरे चीर फारे नेन चले चुराय ॥ काल धोकें कान मेरी पीठ मिडी आय ॥२॥ कहेत जुवती बात सुन बस थकीत भई ब्रजनार ॥ सूर प्रभुको ध्यान धर मन रही बाम पसार ॥३॥

केसे बने जमुना असनान ॥ नंदको सुत तीर बेठ्यो बड़ो चतुर सुजान ॥१॥  
How can we bathe in the Yamuna? Nanda’s son is sitting on the bank—very clever and knowing. ॥१॥

हारतोरे चीर फारे नेन चले चुराय ॥ काल धोकें कान मेरी पीठ मिडी आय ॥२॥  
He breaks our necklaces, tears our garments, and goes about stealing glances. Yesterday, on some pretext, Kanh came close behind me. ॥२॥

कहेत जुवती बात सुन बस थकीत भई ब्रजनार ॥ सूर प्रभुको ध्यान धर मन रही बाम पसार ॥३॥  
Hearing the young woman speak these words, the women of Vraj remained utterly astonished. Sur says: fixing her mind upon Prabhu, she remained there with her arm outstretched. ॥३॥

kese bane jamunaa asanaan ||
nandako sut teer bethyo baro chatur sujaan ||1||

haaratore cheer phaare nen chale churaay ||
kaal dhoken kaan meree peeth midee aay ||2||

kahet juvatee baat sun bas thakeet bhaee brajanaar ||
soor prabhuko dhyaan dhar man rahee baam pasaar ||3||
