केसें केसें गाय चराई गिरिधर ॥ गोरज मुखतें झार जसोदा लेत बलैयां फेरकर ॥१॥ कहां रहे तुम घाम छांह मध्य घन बरख्यो बल समेत सुन्दर बर ॥ नंददास प्रभु कहत जननीसों हम न डरे देखि बादर ॥

केसें केसें गाय चराई गिरिधर ॥
गोरज मुखतें झार जसोदा लेत बलैयां फेरकर ॥१॥
“How did You manage to graze the cows, Giridhar?” Yashoda gently brushes the cow-dust from His face and lovingly wards away all harm from Him again and again. ॥१॥

कहां रहे तुम घाम छांह मध्य घन बरख्यो बल समेत सुन्दर बर ॥
“Where were You when the clouds poured down—out in the sun or beneath some shade, together with Bal, my beautiful One?”

नंददास प्रभु कहत जननीसों हम न डरे देखि बादर ॥
Nandadas says: Prabhu replies to His mother, “We were not afraid when we saw the clouds.”

kesen kesen gaay charaaee Giridhar ||
goraj mukhaten jhaar jasodaa let balaiyaan pherakar ||1||

kahaan rahe tum ghaam chhaanh madhy ghan barakhyo bal samet sundar bar ||
nandadaas prabhu kahat jananeeson ham na dare dekhi baadar ||
