खेलनकोंचले बालगोविंद ॥ सखाप्रियबुलावत द्वारे घोषबालकवृंद ॥१॥ तरसत हैं सबदर्शकारण चतुरचातकदास ॥ वरख छबि नवबारिधरत न हरत लोचनप्यास ॥२॥ बिनें बचनसुनत कृपानिधिचलो मनोहरबाल ॥ ललितलघुलघु चरनकरउरबाहु नयनबिशाल ॥३॥ अजरपद प्रतिबिंब राजत चलत उपमापुंज ॥ प्रतिचरणमानों हेमवसुधादेत आसनकुंज ॥४॥ सूरप्रभुकी निरख शोभा रहे सुर अवलोक ॥ सरदचंद चकोर मानो रहे थकितवलोक ॥५॥

खेलनकोंचले बालगोविंद ॥ सखाप्रियबुलावत द्वारे घोषबालकवृंद ॥१॥
Little Govind sets out to play. At the doorway, a group of cowherd boys, His dear friends, are calling Him. ॥१॥

तरसत हैं सबदर्शकारण चतुरचातकदास ॥ वरख छबि नवबारिधरत न हरत लोचनप्यास ॥२॥
All His friends long to see Him, like thirsty chatak birds waiting for rain. Even though His beauty pours forth like rain from a fresh cloud, their eyes are never satisfied with beholding Him. ॥२॥

बिनें बचनसुनत कृपानिधिचलो मनोहरबाल ॥ ललितलघुलघु चरनकरउरबाहु नयनबिशाल ॥३॥
Hearing their loving requests, the treasure of compassion, the charming little boy Govind, begins to walk. His feet, hands, chest, and arms are small and beautiful, while His eyes are large. ॥३॥

अजरपद प्रतिबिंब राजत चलत उपमापुंज ॥ प्रतिचरणमानों हेमवसुधादेत आसनकुंज ॥४॥
As He walks, the reflection of His feet shines upon the courtyard floor, creating a sight of incomparable beauty. With every step, it seems as though the golden ground is offering Him a beautiful place to rest His feet. ॥४॥

सूरप्रभुकी निरख शोभा रहे सुर अवलोक ॥ सरदचंद चकोर मानो रहे थकितवलोक ॥५॥
Surdas says that the gods remain gazing at the Lord's beauty, as though they were chakor birds captivated by the autumn moon, unable to take their eyes away from Him. ॥५॥

tarasat hain sabadarshakaaran chaturachaatakadaas ||
varakh chhabi navabaaridharat na harat lochanapyaas ||2||

binen bachanasunat kripaanidhichalo manoharabaal ||
lalitalaghulaghu charanakaraurabaahu nayanabishaal ||3||

ajarapad pratibimb raajat chalat upamaapunj ||
praticharanamaanon hemavasudhaadet aasanakunj ||4||

sooraprabhukee nirakh shobhaa rahe sur avalok ||
saradachand chakor maano rahe thakitavalok ||5||
