खेलत गुपाल नव सखिन संग ॥ नवनव अंबर रंगरंग ॥५॥
Gopāl plays with the nine sakhīs, wearing garments of many different colors. ॥५॥

मुरलीवेन डफनये चंग ॥ मधिनईकुहूक बाजे उपंग ॥ सुर समूह नई नई तरंग ॥ जहां नईनई गति उपजत मृदंग ॥१॥
The murali, veṇu, daf, and chang are being played. In between, the cuckoo’s call and the upaṅga are heard. Groups of musical notes rise in new waves, while the mṛdaṅga produces many different rhythms. ॥१॥

मृगमद लपटे चंदन सुगंध ॥ केसरि कुंकुम मलय मकरंद ॥ हुलसि जुवतिवर वृंदवृंद ॥ लीने लपेटि आनंदकंद ॥२॥
The fragrance of musk and sandalwood spreads around; saffron, kuṅkum, and the sweet fragrance of sandalwood fill the air. Groups of young women rejoice and surround the source of joy. ॥२॥

उडी परस्पर अरुन रूंदि ॥ दुरत भरत मुखनेनमूंदि ॥ घूंघट में मुखलसतमंद ॥ मानों अरुन जलधि में दुरेचंद ॥३॥
Red color flies from one to another, covering their faces and closing their eyes. Their faces shine softly beneath their veils, as though the moon were hidden within a red-colored ocean. ॥३॥

सखी एक तव कियोवंद ॥ चतुर बोलि सिखयोसुछंद ॥ पियनाम टेरि कह्यो नंदनंद ॥ रहो रहो भरोजू नागर नंद ॥४॥
One sakhī then made a respectful gesture. Speaking cleverly, she taught the proper words. Calling out the Beloved’s name, she said, “Stay, stay, O Nandanand, O graceful Nāgar.” ॥४॥

हाथ झारि हरिकों दिखाय ॥ चोली में सोंधो दुराय ॥ त्रियन अंक हसिकें बताय ॥ गहेत वही सब परीहें धाय ॥५॥
She waved her hand toward Hari, showing Him her gesture, and hid the fragrant substance within her clothing. The women laughed and showed one another what had happened; they all ran toward the one who had been caught. ॥५॥

कोऊ निखरत लोचन अघाय ॥ कोऊ आनद्रग आजतसिराय ॥ कोऊ मुखपकरि रोरी फिराय ॥ कोऊ कहत भले हो स्यामराय ॥६॥
Some gaze at Him until their eyes are satisfied; some look at Him with joyful eyes. Some turn His face around playfully, while others say, “Well done, Śyāmarāya!” ॥६॥

विवसप्रेम वश स्यामलाल ॥ मन भायो सब करत बाल ॥ भरत अंक भरिभरि गुपाल ॥ सूरदास तहां कामपाल ॥७॥
Śyām Lāl, overcome by love, does whatever pleases the heart, like a child. Gopāl fills their arms with joy again and again. Sūrdās says, there Kāmapāl is present. ॥७॥

leene lapeti aanandakand ||2||

udee paraspar arun roondi ||
durat bharat mukhanenamoondi ||
ghoonghat men mukhalasatamand ||
maanon arun jaladhi men durechand ||3||

sakhee ek tav kiyovand ||
chatur boli sikhayosuchhand ||
piyanaam teri kahyo nandanand ||
raho raho bharojoo naagar Nand ||4||

haath jhaari harikon dikhaay ||
cholee men sondho duraay ||
triyan ank hasiken bataay ||
gahet vahee sab pareehen dhaay ||5||

kooo nikharat lochan aghaay ||
kooo aanadrag aajatasiraay ||
kooo mukhapakari roree phiraay ||
