लाल मेरी सुरंग चूनरी भीजे ॥ लेहु बचाय आय पिय मोकों बूंद परे रंग छीजे ॥१॥ बरखत मेह रहेनहीं नेकहुं कहा उपाय अब कीजे ॥ हम तुम कुंज भवनमें चलियें मान सबे सुखलीजे ॥२॥ ऐसो समयो बोहोर न व्हेहे मेरो कह्यो पतीजे ॥ श्रीविट्ठल गिरिधरन छबीले निरख निरख मुख जीजे ॥३॥

लाल मेरी सुरंग चूनरी भीजे ॥ लेहु बचाय आय पिय मोकों बूंद परे रंग छीजे ॥१॥
Lal, my beautifully colored chunari is getting drenched. Piya, please come and protect me; if the raindrops fall upon it, its color will fade. ॥१॥

बरखत मेह रहेनहीं नेकहुं कहा उपाय अब कीजे ॥ हम तुम कुंज भवनमें चलियें मान सबे सुखलीजे ॥२॥
The rain is pouring without pause—what can be done now? Let us go into the grove-shelter and take refuge there in comfort. ॥२॥

ऐसो समयो बोहोर न व्हेहे मेरो कह्यो पतीजे ॥ श्रीविट्ठल गिरिधरन छबीले निरख निरख मुख जीजे ॥३॥
Such a moment may not come again, so please trust what I say. Shri Vitthal says: beholding the charming face of Giridhar again and again, the heart finds its very life. ॥३॥
