लाल तेरे मुख ऊपर वारी । बलि केशव मेरे नयनन लागै रोग बलाय तुम्हारी ॥१॥ सुंदरता कौ पार न पावत रूप देखि महतारी । उर अंतर आनंद बढावत हँसत देत किलकारी ॥२॥ अल्प दशन तुतरात बोल बिंब तहाँ न जात बिचारी । सूर सिंधुमें बूंद भई मिलि मनसा मगन हमारी ॥३॥

लाल तेरे मुख ऊपर वारी । बलि केशव मेरे नयनन लागै रोग बलाय तुम्हारी ॥१॥
“My darling Keshav, I would gladly give everything for Your beautiful face. May any illness or misfortune that might come upon You fall upon me instead.” ॥१॥

सुंदरता कौ पार न पावत रूप देखि महतारी । उर अंतर आनंद बढावत हँसत देत किलकारी ॥२॥
His mother gazes at His beautiful form and cannot find any limit to His loveliness. Her heart fills with ever-growing joy as little Krishna smiles and gives delighted, playful cries. ॥२॥

अल्प दशन तुतरात बोल बिंब तहाँ न जात बिचारी । सूर सिंधुमें बूंद भई मिलि मनसा मगन हमारी ॥३॥
His tiny teeth and sweet, babbling words are so charming that no comparison can adequately describe them. Surdas says, “My heart is completely absorbed in this joy, like a drop of water merging into the ocean.” ॥३॥
