लेउ लाल मेरे लाल खिलौना । दुरि जिन जाउ बाहिर हाऊ है खेलौ बलि मोहन यह भौना ॥१॥ डरपि आय जननी उर लागे जटित नीलमणि ज्यों मधि सोंना । फेरत हाथ शीश मुख चुंबत हाऊ भाजि गयौ मेरे छौना ॥२॥ अति डर डरे रोम उठि आये काँपत अंग गह्यौ अति मौना । तब जसुमति खिजि नंद अंक भरि परचावत मुख देखि सलौना ॥३॥ पूतना शकट तृणावर्त मारे अद्भुत लीला नंद डिठौना । कृष्णदास इहि विधि ब्रज खेलत नित प्रति सुंदर श्याम सलौना ॥४॥

लेउ लाल मेरे लाल खिलौना । दुरि जिन जाउ बाहिर हाऊ है खेलौ बलि मोहन यह भौना ॥१॥
Take this toy, my dear, my child. Do not go far away; stay here and play. I offer myself to you, Mohan, with this little toy. ॥१॥

डरपि आय जननी उर लागे जटित नीलमणि ज्यों मधि सोंना । फेरत हाथ शीश मुख चुंबत हाऊ भाजि गयौ मेरे छौना ॥२॥
Frightened, He comes and clings to His mother’s breast, like a sapphire set amidst gold. As she strokes His head with her hand and kisses His face, He runs away, my little one. ॥२॥

अति डर डरे रोम उठि आये काँपत अंग गह्यौ अति मौना । तब जसुमति खिजि नंद अंक भरि परचावत मुख देखि सलौना ॥३॥
Very greatly frightened, His hairs stand on end; His limbs tremble, and He becomes utterly silent. Then Yashumati, displeased, takes Him into Nanda’s arms and consoles Him, gazing at His lovely face. ॥३॥

पूतना शकट तृणावर्त मारे अद्भुत लीला नंद डिठौना । कृष्णदास इहि विधि ब्रज खेलत नित प्रति सुंदर श्याम सलौना ॥४॥
He slew Putana, Shakata, and Trinavarta; Nanda witnessed these wondrous pastimes. Krishnadas says: in this way, the beautiful, lovely Shyam plays every day in Vraj. ॥४॥

## Transliteration

leu laal mere laal khilaunaa |
duri jin jaau baahir haaoo hai khelau bali mohan yah bhaunaa ||1||

darapi aay jananee ur laage jatit neelamani jyon madhi sonnaa |
pherat haath sheesh mukh chumbat haaoo bhaaji gayau mere chhaunaa ||2||

ati dar dare rom uthi aaye kaanpat ang gahyau ati maunaa |
tab jasumati khiji Nand ank bhari parachaavat mukh dekhi salaunaa ||3||

pootanaa shakat trinaavart maare adbhut leelaa Nand dithaunaa |
krishnadaas ihi vidhi Braj khelat nit prati sundar shyaam salaunaa ||4||
