महरि तोहिबडीकृपन मैंपाई ॥ दूधदहीदियो जोविधातातोहि सोतोधरतछिपाई ॥१॥ बालकबहुत नहींरीतेरे एकहिकुंवरकन्हाई ॥ सोहूतो घरहीघरडोलत माखनखातचुराई ॥२॥ वृद्धबेषपूरवपुन्यनतें यह निधि भाग्यन पाई ॥ ताहूके खैवेपीवेकों एती कहाचतुराई ॥३॥ सुनतबचन चतुरनागरीके जशुमतिनंदसुनाई ॥ सूरस्यामको चोरीकेमिसदेखनको यह आई ॥४॥

महरि तोहिबडीकृपन मैंपाई ॥ दूधदहीदियो जोविधातातोहि सोतोधरतछिपाई ॥१॥
“O mother Yashoda, I find You very miserly! Whatever milk and curd God has given You, You keep hidden away.” ॥१॥

बालकबहुत नहींरीतेरे एकहिकुंवरकन्हाई ॥ सोहूतो घरहीघरडोलत माखनखातचुराई ॥२॥
“You do not have many children. You have only one dear son, Kanhaiya. Yet even He wanders from house to house, stealing and eating butter.” ॥२॥

वृद्धबेषपूरवपुन्यनतें यह निधि भाग्यन पाई ॥ ताहूके खैवेपीवेकों एती कहाचतुराई ॥३॥
“In Your old age, through the merit of Your past good deeds, You have been fortunate enough to receive this precious treasure of a son. Why, then, are You so calculating even about what He eats and drinks?” ॥३॥

सुनतबचन चतुरनागरीके जशुमतिनंदसुनाई ॥ सूरस्यामको चोरीकेमिसदेखनको यह आई ॥४॥
Hearing the clever cowherd woman's words, Yashoda tells Nand about them. Surdas says, “This woman has come to see Shyam, using His butter-stealing as an excuse.” ॥४॥

vriddhabeshapooravapunyanaten yah nidhi bhaagyan paaee ||
taahooke khaivepeevekon etee kahaachaturaaee ||3||

sunatabachan chaturanaagareeke jashumatinandasunaaee ||
soorasyaamako choreekemisadekhanako yah aaee ||4||
