महरितुम ब्रजचाहत कछुओर ॥ बात एक मैंकहतनाहीं आपलगावत झोर ॥१॥ जहांबसे पतनहीआपनी तजनकह्योसोठौर ॥ सुतकेभयेंवधाईपाई लोगनखेदत होर ॥२॥ कान्हपठायदेत घरलूटन कहँतकर्योयहगोर ब्रजघरसमुझलेहोमरेंठी हाहाकरतकरजोर ॥३॥

महरितुम ब्रजचाहत कछुओर ॥ बात एक मैंकहतनाहीं आपलगावत झोर ॥१॥
“Mother Yashoda, do You want to live somewhere outside Vraj? I have not said anything against You, yet You Yourself are starting a quarrel.” ॥१॥

जहांबसे पतनहीआपनी तजनकह्योसोठौर ॥ सुतकेभयेंवधाईपाई लोगनखेदत होर ॥२॥
“You have no concern for Your reputation in the place where You live. You received congratulations on the birth of Your son, yet now, because of Him, other people are being troubled.” ॥२॥

कान्हपठायदेत घरलूटन कहँतकर्योयहगोर ब्रजघरसमुझलेहोमरेंठी हाहाकरतकरजोर ॥३॥
“You send Kanha to steal from our homes! Tell me, why have You caused such an uproar? Think of the households of Vraj, O stubborn lady!” The cowherd woman speaks in distress, pleading with folded hands. ॥३॥
