मैया मैं नाहीं माखन खायो ॥ ख्यालपरे यह सखा सबै ले मेरे मुख लपटायो ॥१॥ देखतही छीकेपरभाजन ऊंचेधरलटकायो ॥ तूही देख नयन कर अपने मैं कैसेंसोपायो ॥२॥ मुख दधिपोंछ बुद्धि एककीनी दोनापीठदुरायो ॥ डारसांट मुसकाय यशोदा स्यामहि कंठलगायो ॥३॥ बाल विनोदभावकरमोह्यो मातामनहिरिझायो ॥ सूरस्याम यह यशुमतिकोसुख देवनदुर्लभगायो ॥४॥

मैया मैं नाहीं माखन खायो | Maiya Main Nahin Makhan Khayo

मैया मैं नाहीं माखन खायो ॥ ख्यालपरे यह सखा सबै ले मेरे मुख लपटायो ॥१॥
“Mother, I have not eaten any butter! These friends of Mine have played a trick on Me and smeared butter all over My face.” ॥१॥

देखतही छीकेपरभाजन ऊंचेधरलटकायो ॥ तूही देख नयन कर अपने मैं कैसेंसोपायो ॥२॥
“Just look! The butter pot is hanging so high up on the suspended shelf. See for Yourself with Your own eyes. How could I possibly reach it?” ॥२॥

मुख दधिपोंछ बुद्धि एककीनी दोनापीठदुरायो ॥ डारसांट मुसकाय यशोदा स्यामहि कंठलगायो ॥३॥
Shyam cleverly wipes the curd from His mouth and hides the little bowl behind His back. Yashoda puts down the stick, smiles, and embraces Him. ॥३॥

बाल विनोदभावकरमोह्यो मातामनहिरिझायो ॥ सूरस्याम यह यशुमतिकोसुख देवनदुर्लभगायो ॥४॥
Through His playful childhood ways, Shyam charms His mother and fills her heart with delight. Surdas says that even the gods find it difficult to attain the happiness that Yashoda enjoys with Shyam. ॥४॥

khyaalapare yah sakhaa sabai le mere mukh lapataayo ||1||

dekhatahee chheekeparabhaajan oonchedharalatakaayo ||
toohee dekh nayan kar apne main kaisensopaayo ||2||

mukh dadhiponchh buddhi ekakeenee donaapeethaduraayo ||
daarasaant musakaay Yashodaa syaamahi kanthalagaayo ||3||

baal vinodabhaavakaramohyo maataamanahirijhaayo ||
soorasyaam yah yashumatikosukh devanadurlabhagaayo ||4||
