Mangal Mangalam Braj Bhuvi Mangalam

Raga Bhairav)

Auspicious, auspicious—auspicious is the land of Vraj. Auspicious here are the names of Shri Nanda and Yashoda; in the singing of Their names is remembered that beautiful form, lovingly fondled and nurtured in their lap. ॥

The name “Shri Shri Krishna” is the very essence of the Vedas; its auspicious sound removes the inner suffering of His distressed devotees. The feelings of the beauties of Vraj, His companions, the herds of cows, and the groups of deer form an abundant ocean of auspiciousness. ॥

Auspicious are His gentle smile, His glance and speech, and the movement of the pearl at His raised nose. Auspicious is the sound of the flute, joined with the soft movement of His delicate fingers, which enchants all beings born in the land of Vrindavan. ॥

Everything about the Lord of the gopis is auspicious: His very gentle gait, His graceful movements, and His enchanting song in the rasa. O Govardhandhar, may You ever be victorious; protect Your own dasas. ॥४॥
