मांगेरी मोपें चंद खिलोना ॥ बरज रही बरजो नहीं मानत ऐसो हठीलो जसुमतिजुको छोंना ॥१॥ लें प्रतिबिंब दिखावत जननी रें रें रें मेरे चपल दिठोना ॥ सूरदास मोहन हठ ठान्यो गिरिवरधर्यो जेसें करपर दोंना ॥२॥

मांगेरी मोपें चंद खिलोना ॥ बरज रही बरजो नहीं मानत ऐसो हठीलो जसुमतिजुको छोंना ॥१॥
“He is asking me for the moon as a toy! I keep trying to stop Him, but He will not listen. Such a stubborn little darling is Yashoda’s beloved child!” ॥१॥

लें प्रतिबिंब दिखावत जननी रें रें रें मेरे चपल दिठोना ॥ सूरदास मोहन हठ ठान्यो गिरिवरधर्यो जेसें करपर दोंना ॥२॥
His mother shows Him the moon’s reflection and says, “Look, look, look, my darling with playful eyes!” Surdas says that Mohan remains determined to have the moon, just as He held Mount Govardhan upon His hand as easily as a little leaf bowl. ॥२॥
