मोहन ब्रजकेरौ रतन । एक चरित्र आज में देख्यौ पूतना पतन ॥१॥ तृणावर्त लै गयौ अकाशें ताही कों धतन । जेजे दुष्ट उपद्रव ठाने तिनहीं कों हतन ॥२॥ सुनिरी यशोदा या मोहनको करि जतन । परमानंददासको जीवन श्याम है सुतन ॥३॥

मोहन ब्रजकेरौ रतन । एक चरित्र आज में देख्यौ पूतना पतन ॥१॥
Mohan is the jewel of Vraj. Today I saw one of His deeds—the fall of Putana. ॥१॥

तृणावर्त लै गयौ अकाशें ताही कों धतन । जेजे दुष्ट उपद्रव ठाने तिनहीं कों हतन ॥२॥
Trinavarta carried Him into the sky, but He struck him down. Whatever wicked ones set out to cause trouble, He destroyed them. ॥२॥

सुनिरी यशोदा या मोहनको करि जतन । परमानंददासको जीवन श्याम है सुतन ॥३॥
Listen, Yashoda, take great care of this Mohan. Shyam, your son, is the very life of Parmananddas. ॥३॥

mohan brajakerau ratan |
ek charitr aaj men dekhyau pootanaa patan ||1||

trinaavart lai gayau akaashen taahee kon dhatan |
jeje dusht upadrav thaane tinaheen kon hatan ||2||

suniree Yashodaa yaa mohanako kari jatan |
paramaanandadaasako jeevan shyaam hai sutan ||3||
