नयना माई नाहिन करत कह्यो ॥ कहा करूं केसे नहिं छूटे जो हठ हरख गह्यो ॥१॥ आवत हुतीसहज मग अपने चपलन उलट चह्यो ॥ निगम स्वरूप धाय खन अपने लोभित चाहि लह्यो ॥२॥ जोव्रत लियो प्रथमही निरखत अंतहूसो निवह्यो ॥ विद्यापति श्रीगोपाल सदा इन अखियन लागरह्यो ॥३॥

नयना माई नाहिन | Nayana Mai Nahin

नयना माई नाहिन करत कह्यो ॥  
कहा करूं केसे नहिं छूटे जो हठ हरख गह्यो ॥१॥
O mother, my eyes no longer obey what I tell them. What can I do? They will not turn away, for they have stubbornly fixed themselves there in joy. ॥१॥

आवत हुतीसहज मग अपने चपलन उलट चह्यो ॥  
निगम स्वरूप धाय खन अपने लोभित चाहि लह्यो ॥२॥
I was simply coming along my usual path, when these restless eyes suddenly turned aside. Seeing the very form praised by the Vedas, they rushed toward Him and, captivated, found what they desired. ॥२॥

जोव्रत लियो प्रथमही निरखत अंतहूसो निवह्यो ॥  
विद्यापति श्रीगोपाल सदा इन अखियन लागरह्यो ॥३॥
The vow they took at the very first sight, they have kept to the end. Vidyapati says: Shri Gopal remains forever before these eyes. ॥३॥

nayanaa maaee naahin karat kahyo ||
kahaa karoon kese nahin chhoote jo hath harakh gahyo ||1||

aavat huteesahaj mag apne chapalan ulat chahyo ||
nigam svaroop dhaay khan apne lobhit chaahi lahyo ||2||

jovrat liyo prathamahee nirakhat antahooso nivahyo ||
vidyaapati Shreegopaal sadaa in akhiyan laagarahyo ||3||
