नेंकरहोमांखनदेऊंतुमको ठाडीमथतजननी दधिआतुरलोनी नंदसुवनको ॥१॥ मैबलजाऊं स्यामघनसुंदर भूखलगी तुम्हें भारी ॥ बातकहूंकी बूझतस्यामहि फेरकहत महतारी ॥२॥ कहतबात हरिकछूनसमझत झूँठेईभरत हुंकारी ॥ सूरदासप्रभुकेगुण तुरतहिविसरिगई नंदनारी ॥३॥

नेंकरहोमांखनदेऊंतुमको ठाडीमथतजननी दधिआतुरलोनी नंदसुवनको ॥१॥
“Wait a little, and I will give you butter.” Mother Yashoda says this as she stands churning curd, while Nand's son eagerly longs for butter. ॥१॥

मैबलजाऊं स्यामघनसुंदर भूखलगी तुम्हें भारी ॥ बातकहूंकी बूझतस्यामहि फेरकहत महतारी ॥२॥
“I would give myself for you, my beautiful Shyam, dark as a raincloud! You must be very hungry. Do you understand what I am saying?” His mother asks Shyam again. ॥२॥

कहतबात हरिकछूनसमझत झूँठेईभरत हुंकारी ॥ सूरदासप्रभुकेगुण तुरतहिविसरिगई नंदनारी ॥३॥
Hari does not understand what she is saying, but merely makes sounds as though He does. Surdas says that Yashoda, Nand's wife, has completely forgotten the Lord's greatness at that moment. ॥३॥

maibalajaaoon syaamaghanasundar bhookhalagee tumhen bhaaree ||
baatakahoonkee boojhatasyaamahi pherakahat mahataaree ||2||

kahatabaat harikachhoonasamajhat jhoontheeebharat hunkaaree ||
sooradaasaprabhukegun turatahivisarigaee nandanaaree ||3||
