प्रीतम प्रीतिहीते पैये ॥ यद्यपि रूपगुण सील सुघरता इन वातन नरिझैये ॥१॥ सत कुल जन्म करम शुभलक्षणवेदपुराण पढ़ैये ॥ गोविंद विनास्नेहसुआलो रसना कहाजु नचैये ॥२॥

प्रीतम प्रीतिहीते पैये | Pritam Pritihite Paiye

प्रीतम प्रीतिहीते पैये ॥  
यद्यपि रूपगुण सील सुघरता इन वातन नरिझैये ॥१॥
The beloved is attained only through love. Beauty, good qualities, good character, and refinement alone do not win Him. ॥१॥

सत कुल जन्म करम शुभलक्षणवेदपुराण पढ़ैये ॥  
गोविंद विनास्नेहसुआलो रसना कहाजु नचैये ॥२॥
One may be born in a noble family, perform good deeds, possess auspicious qualities, and study the Vedas and Puranas. Govind says: without true affection, however sweetly and skillfully the tongue may speak, it is of no use. ॥२॥

preetam preetiheete paiye ||
yadyapi roopagun seel sugharataa in vaatan narijhaiye ||1||

sat kul janm karam shubhalakshanavedapuraan parhaiye ||
Govind vinaasnehasuaalo rasanaa kahaaju nachaiye ||2||
