सखाकहतहैं स्यामखिस्याने ॥ आपहीं आनलुकेभयेठाडे अबतुम कहारिसाने ॥१॥ बीचहीबोलउठे हलधरतब इनकेंमायनबाप ॥ हारजीतको नेकनसमझत लरकनलावतपाप ॥२॥ आपनहार सखासों झगरतयह कहदियोपठाय ॥ सूरस्यामउठचलेरोयकें जननीपूछतधाय ॥३॥

सखाकहतहैं स्यामखिस्याने | Sakhakahathain Syamkhisyane

सखाकहतहैं स्यामखिस्याने ॥ आपहीं आनलुकेभयेठाडे अबतुम कहारिसाने ॥१॥
The cowherd boys say, “Shyam, You seem upset! You Yourself came and stood here hiding, so why are You angry now?” ॥१॥

बीचहीबोलउठे हलधरतब इनकेंमायनबाप ॥ हारजीतको नेकनसमझत लरकनलावतपाप ॥२॥
Then Balram interrupts and says, “These boys have no parents to guide them! They do not understand even a little about winning and losing, and they wrongly blame other children.” ॥२॥

आपनहार सखासों झगरतयह कहदियोपठाय ॥ सूरस्यामउठचलेरोयकें जननीपूछतधाय ॥३॥
“They lose the game themselves and then quarrel with their friends.” Saying this, Balram sends them away. Surdas says that Shyam gets up and walks away crying, while His mother runs towards Him to ask what has happened. ॥३॥

aapanahaar sakhaason jhagaratayah kahadiyopathaay ||
soorasyaamauthachaleroyaken jananeepoochhatadhaay ||3||
