श्याम जमुनां बीच खेवत नाव ॥ एक सखी आई घरतें कहे मोहकों बेठाव ॥१॥ बेठों केसे घाट ओघट हे रपट परत हें पाय ॥ हाथ पकर बेठाय आप ढिंग रसिकन रच्यो उपाय ॥२॥

श्याम जमुनां बीच खेवत नाव ॥ एक सखी आई घरतें कहे मोहकों बेठाव ॥१॥
Shyam rows a boat upon the Yamuna. A sakhi comes from home and says, “Help me into the boat.” ॥१॥

बेठों केसे घाट ओघट हे रपट परत हें पाय ॥ हाथ पकर बेठाय आप ढिंग रसिकन रच्यो उपाय ॥२॥
“How can I get in? The landing is difficult, and my feet keep slipping.” Taking her hand, he seats her beside him—such a loving way the rasik has devised. ॥२॥
