सोवत नींद आय गई स्यामहीं ॥ महरि उठ पोढाय दुहनको आपन लगी गृहकामही ॥१॥ वरजतहें घर के लोगनकों हरी ये लेले नामही ॥ गाढेबोल नपावत कोऊ डर मोहन बलराम ही ॥ शिवसनकादिक अंत नहिपावत ध्यावतहें हिनयामही ॥ सूरदासप्रभु ब्रह्मसनातन सो सोवत नंदधामहीं ॥३॥

सोवत नींद आय | Sovat Neend Aay

सोवत नींद आय गई स्यामहीं ॥ महरि उठ पोढाय दुहनको आपन लगी गृहकामही ॥१॥  
While resting, Shyam fell asleep. Mother got up, laid both brothers down comfortably, and then attended to her household work. ॥१॥

वरजतहें घर के लोगनकों हरी ये लेले नामही ॥ गाढेबोल नपावत कोऊ डर मोहन बलराम ही ॥  
She keeps telling the people of the house not even to call Hari’s name aloud. No one dares speak loudly, for fear of waking Mohan and Balaram.

शिवसनकादिक अंत नहिपावत ध्यावतहें हिनयामही ॥ सूरदासप्रभु ब्रह्मसनातन सो सोवत नंदधामहीं ॥३॥  
Shiva, Sanaka and the other sages cannot reach His limit and meditate upon Him at all times. Surdas says: that eternal Brahman, Prabhu Himself, is sleeping in Nanda’s home. ॥३॥

sovat neend aay gaee syaamaheen ||
mahari uth podhaay duhanako aapan lagee grihakaamahee ||1||

varajatahen ghar ke loganakon haree ye lele naamahee ||
gaadhebol napaavat kooo dar mohan balaraam hee ||
shivasanakaadik ant nahipaavat dhyaavatahen hinayaamahee ||
sooradaasaprabhu brahmasanaatan so sovat nandadhaamaheen ||3||
