सुन्दर श्याम छबिलो ढोटा डार गयो मोपे मदन ठगोरी । निर्तत गावत वेनु बजावत संग सखा हलधर की जोरी । कबहुंक गेंदन मार मचावत ग्वाल भजावत हें चहु ओरी ॥ चंचल वाजन चावत धावत कबहुंक आय होत इक ठोरी ॥ कुंदन लोल लोल लोचन छबि शीश पगा ओढे पीत पिछोरी ॥ सूरदास प्रभु मोहन नागर  कहांरि करूं किनी जग जोरी ॥

सुन्दर श्याम छबिलो ढोटा डार गयो मोपे मदन ठगोरी ।  
Beautiful Shyam, the charming cowherd boy, has cast over me love’s bewitching spell.

निर्तत गावत वेनु बजावत संग सखा हलधर की जोरी ।  
Dancing, singing, and playing the flute, together with His sakhās and in the company of Haldhar.

कबहुंक गेंदन मार मचावत ग्वाल भजावत हें चहु ओरी ॥  
At times He sets the ball-play going, sending the cowherd boys running in all four directions.

चंचल वाजन चावत धावत कबहुंक आय होत इक ठोरी ॥  
With playful quickness He moves and runs about, and at times comes and stands in one place.

कुंदन लोल लोल लोचन छबि शीश पगा ओढे पीत पिछोरी ॥  
With shining, restless eyes and radiant beauty, a turban upon His head, He is draped in a yellow pichhori.

सूरदास प्रभु मोहन नागर  कहांरि करूं किनी जग जोरी ॥  
Surdas says: O Prabhu Mohan Nagar, what can I do? You have brought the whole world under Your spell.

sundar shyaam chhabilo dhotaa daar gayo mope madan thagoree |
nirtat gaavat venu bajaavat sang sakhaa haladhar kee joree |
kabahunk gendan maar machaavat gvaal bhajaavat hen chahu oree ||
chanchal vaajan chaavat dhaavat kabahunk aay hot ik thoree ||
kundan lol lol lochan chhabi sheesh pagaa odhe peet pichhoree ||
Soordaas prabhu mohan naagar  kahaanri karoon kinee jag joree ||
