उगलौ प्यारे बाल गोपाल माँटी । बार बार अनरुचि उपजावत जसुमति हाथ लिये साँटी ॥१॥ महतारीकौ कह्यो न मानत कपट चतुरई ठाटी। बदन उघारी दिखायौ अपनौ नाटककी परपाटी ॥२॥ बड़ी बार भई लोचन मूँदे भरम जवनिका फाटी । सूरदास नंदरानी थकित भई कहत न मीठी खाटी ॥३॥

उगलौ प्यारे बाल गोपाल माँटी ।
बार बार अनरुचि उपजावत जसुमति हाथ लिये साँटी ॥१॥
Spit it out, beloved child Gopal, the dirt. Again and again distaste arises in Jasumati, who holds a little stick in her hand ॥१॥

महतारीकौ कह्यो न मानत कपट चतुरई ठाटी।
बदन उघारी दिखायौ अपनौ नाटककी परपाटी ॥२॥
You do not obey Your mother's words; You have arranged deceitful cleverness. Opening Your mouth, You showed Your own way of divine play ॥२॥

बड़ी बार भई लोचन मूँदे भरम जवनिका फाटी ।
सूरदास नंदरानी थकित भई कहत न मीठी खाटी ॥३॥
After a long while she closed her eyes, and the curtain of delusion was torn. Surdas says Nandarani became exhausted, unable to say whether it was sweet or sour ॥३॥

ugalau pyaare baal Gopaal maantee |
baar baar anaruchi upajaavat jasumati haath liye saantee ||1||

mahataareekau kahyo na maanat kapat chaturaee thaatee |
badan ughaaree dikhaayau apanau naatakakee parapaatee ||2||

baree baar bhaee lochan moonde bharam javanikaa phaatee |
Soordaas nandaraanee thakit bhaee kahat na meethee khaatee ||3||
