घर घर नंदमहर के मिषही मिष आवे गोकुलकी नार ॥ सुंदर वदन बिनु देखे कल न परत भूल्यो धामकाम आछो वदन निहार ॥१॥

The women of Gokul come to Nanda Maharaj’s house again and again, making one excuse after another. Without seeing His beautiful face, they find no peace. Forgetting their household duties, they long to gaze upon His lovely face. ॥१॥

दीपक लेचली बहिर वाटमे बड़ो कर डार फिर आय छबिसों वयारको देत गार ॥ नंददास नंदलालसों लागे हें नयन पलक की ओट मानों बीते युगचार ॥२॥

One woman takes a lamp and goes outside, but a strong gust of wind blows it out. She returns and scolds the wind for interrupting her enjoyment of His beautiful form. Nanddas says that their eyes are so deeply attached to Nandlal that even the brief moment when their eyelids close seems like four ages have passed. ॥२॥
