जयति व्रज पुर सकल खोरि गोकुल अखिल तरणि तनया निकट दिव्य दीपावली ॥ जयति नवकुंजवर द्रुमलता पत्र प्रति मानों फूली नवल कनक चंपावली ॥१॥ Glorious is the town of Vraj, all its lanes, and all of Gokul, where the divine festival of दीपावली shines near the daughter of the sun, Shri Yamunaji. Glorious are the fresh and beautiful groves, where on every leaf of every tree and vine it appears as though new golden champa blossoms have bloomed. ॥१॥

जयति गोविंद गोवृंद चित्रित करें मुदित उमडी फिरे ग्वाल गोपावली ॥ जयति व्रज ईषके चरित्र लखि थकित शिव मोहे विधि लजित सुरलोक भूपावली ॥२॥

Glorious is Govind, who adorns the cows, while the rows of gopas and cowherd boys move about overflowing with joy. Glorious are the pastimes of the Lord of Vraj—seeing them, Shiv becomes absorbed, Brahma is bewildered, and the rulers of the heavenly worlds are left humbled. ॥२॥
