MEANING
परब दसहरा जानि जसोमति लाल उबटि न्हवावही ॥सेत वागो लाल सूथन सेत कुलही बनावही ॥१॥Knowing it to be the festival of Dussehra, Jasomati bathes Lala after applying ubtan. She dresses Lala in a white garment and white suthan, and places a white kulah upon His head. ॥१॥आभूखन पहेराये हितसों काजर नैन लगावही ॥नंदराय बुलाव लिये अथैयां तें आवही ॥२॥With love she adorns Him with ornaments and applies kajal to His eyes. Nandarai is called, and he comes from the athai. ॥२॥अश्वको सिंगार लाये विप्र वेद पठावही ॥तिलक सिर धरन जवारा यह बात घर घर जावही ॥३॥The horse is brought beautifully adorned, while the Brahmins recite the Vedas. A tilak is placed upon His forehead and javara upon His head; news of the celebration spreads from house to house. ॥३॥बारी तिबारी चोगनी भीतर देख हँस मुसक्यावही ॥अश्व चढ हरि प्रेरि लाये हरखि मंगल गावही ॥४॥From windows, balconies, and courtyards, they watch Hari and smile with delight. Hari mounts the horse and rides forth, while everyone joyfully sings auspicious songs. ॥४॥आये लिवाये वधाय लीने नंद हँसि लपटावहीआरती कर माई जसोमती डारकेस बल जावही ॥५॥When Hari returns, He is welcomed with congratulations, and Nanda smilingly embraces Him. Mother Jasomati performs His arati and offers herself in loving devotion to Dark-haired Keshava. ॥५॥
