English Meaning
यमुना जल क्रीडत श्याम चहुं ओर बनी वाम नावमधि लाल रावटी रचि ॥ फूलनको बंगला मनोहर राजत झुकि रही लता हंस ओर चकोरकी पंगति सचि ॥१॥
Shyam plays upon the Yamuna’s waters, surrounded by beautifully adorned maidens. A red pavilion has been fashioned in the boat’s centre. The lovely flower pavilion shines in beauty, with creepers bending over it and rows of swans and chakor birds arranged around it. ॥१॥
कोकिला अलापत तान लेत सुखकारी गावत प्रवीन प्यारी सारंग राग खचि ॥ छुटत जल जंत्रन फुंहीं मानों सुमन माल गुहीं ब्रजाधीश मेघ श्याम मूरत देखी ललचि ॥२॥
Cuckoos sing delightful melodic phrases, and accomplished Pyari sings Raag Sarang. Sprays rise from the fountains, as though garlands of flowers were being woven. Beholding the cloud-dark form of Vraj’s Lord, one longs to keep gazing at him. ॥२॥
