ये दोऊ मेरे गाय चरैया ॥ मोल बिहंस लये मैं तुमको तब दोऊ रहे नन्हैया ॥१॥

“These two are my cowherds. I bought you both by paying a price when you were very little,” says Mother Yashoda with a playful smile. ॥१॥

तुमसो टहल करावत निशदिन औरन टहल करैया ॥ यह सुन स्याम हंसे कहि दोऊ झूठेई कहत है मैया ॥२॥

“I make you both serve me day and night, just as others have servers to serve them.” Hearing this, Shyam laughs, and both say, “Mother, you are telling lies!” ॥२॥

जान परतहै सांच जुठाई धेनु चरावत रहे झुरैया ॥ सूरदासप्रभु हंसत यशोदा मैं चेरी कहि लेत बलैया ॥३॥

“It is easy to tell what is true and what is false. We have grown tired from grazing the cows.” Surdas says that Mother Yashoda laughs and lovingly says, “I am your server,” while affectionately blessing her beloved children. ॥३॥
