MEANING
आगे आगे भाज्यो जात भगीरथ को रथ पाछें पाछें आवत रंग भरी गंग ॥ झलमलात अति उज्ज्वल जल ज्योति अब निरखत मानों सीस भर मोतिन मंग ॥१ ॥Bhagirath’s chariot speeds on ahead, while the joy-filled Ganga follows behind. Her exceedingly bright waters shimmer with light, appearing as though her head were adorned with a parting filled with pearls. ॥१ ॥जहां परेहैं भूप कबके भस्म रूप ठौर ठौर जाग उठे होत सलिल संग ॥ 'नंददास' मानो अग्निके यंत्र छूटे ऐसे सुरपुर चले धरे दिव्य अंग ॥२ ॥Wherever the long-departed kings lay reduced to ashes, they arose at each place as the waters touched them. Nanddas says: it was as though they were released from the bonds of fire; assuming divine forms, they departed for the celestial realm. ॥२ ॥
