MEANING
द्विज असाढ़ी सरस दिन नछत्र पुष्य संजोग ॥ रथ शोभा रवि कोटि सम करत नंद सुत भोग ॥१॥On the auspicious second day of Ashadh, under the conjunction of the Pushya nakshatra, Nanda’s son enjoys the splendid chariot, radiant like millions of suns. ॥१॥ऋतु बरखा सुहावनि बरखें मेघ मलार ॥ भोंम हटी हरखित सबें चंद वधू चटसार ॥२॥The beautiful rainy season has come, and the clouds pour down as though singing Malhar. The heat of the earth has subsided, and all are filled with joy; the moon and the young women shine beautifully. ॥२॥सोर करत दादुर बन बोलत चात्रक मोर ॥ कोकिल कलख बोल ही करत पपैया सोर ॥३॥The frogs make their calls, while in the forest the chatak birds and peacocks cry out. The cuckoos sing sweetly, and the papiha birds call aloud. ॥३॥
