MEANING
किहिं मिस यशोमतिहीकें जाऊं ॥ सकलसुखनिधि-मुखअवलोकूं नयननतृषा बुझाऊं ॥१॥By what pretext shall I go to Yashoda’s home? I long to behold the face of the treasure of all happiness and satisfy the thirst of my eyes. ॥१॥द्वारआरज सभाजुरीहे निकसवेनहिंपाऊं विनागयेपतिव्रतछुटे हसेगोकुलगाऊं ॥२॥At the doorway the elders are gathered, so I am unable to go out. If I go without a proper reason, my honour as a devoted wife will be lost, and all of Gokul will laugh at me. ॥२॥स्याम गात सरोजआनन-मुदितलेलेनाऊं ॥ सूरहिलगनकठिनमनकी कहीकाहि सुनाऊं ॥३॥How joyfully I would behold Shyam’s dark form and lotus-face! Surdas says: to whom can I speak of this deep longing within my heart? ॥३॥
