MEANING
लालनसंग खेलन फागचली ॥ चोवा चंदन अगर कुंकुमा छिरकत घोषगली ॥१॥She has gone to play Phāg with Lāl. She sprinkles chovā, sandalwood, agaru, and kuṅkum in the streets of Ghoṣa. ॥१॥ऋतुवसंत आगम नवनागरि जोवन भार भरी ॥ देखन चली लाल गिरिधरकों नंदजूके द्वारखरी ॥२॥With the arrival of spring, the young Nāgarī, full of youthful beauty, has gone to see Lāl Giridhar and stands at Nandajū’s doorway. ॥२॥रातीपीरी चोली पहरें नौतन झूमक सारी ॥ मुखहिं तंबोल नेन में काजर देत भामती गारी ॥३॥She wears a red-and-yellow bodice and a fresh sari with swinging ornaments. Her mouth is reddened with betel, and her eyes are darkened with collyrium; she playfully teases Him with Holī songs. ॥३॥बाजत ताल मृदंग बांसुरी गावत गीत सुहाये ॥ नवल गुपाल नवल ब्रजवनिता निकसि चोहटे आये ॥४॥The tāla, mṛdaṅga, and flute are playing, and lovely songs are being sung. Fresh and youthful Gopāl and the young women of Vraj have come out into the courtyard. ॥४॥देखो आई कृष्णजुकी लीला विहरत गोकुल माहीं ॥ कहतन बने दास परमानंद यह सुख अनतजु नाहीं ॥५॥Look, Kṛṣṇa’s līlā has come and is taking place in Gokul. Paramānand Dās says: there is no other happiness like this. ॥५॥
