रहीफवि श्याम छबीली पाग ॥ तापर कुल्हे श्याम शिर शोभित मोरचंद छबि लाग ॥१॥The lovely dark turban sits most beautifully upon Him. Upon Shyam’s head, the kulah is adorned with the beauty of the peacock-feather ornament. ॥१॥श्याम अंग पर नीलवसन छबि किंकिणी शब्द सुहाग ॥ श्यामहि रंग रंगी रंग स्यामा स्याम रंग अनुराग ॥२॥Upon Shyam’s dark form, the blue garment shines beautifully, and the sound of the little bells is most pleasing. Syama is herself dyed in Shyam’s color; her love too is colored with devotion to Shyam. ॥२॥यह जोरी अविचल श्रीवृन्दावन स्याम रंग बडभाग ॥ सूर स्याम स्यामा छबि निरखत प्रेम सिंधु रस पाग ॥३॥This pair remains ever steadfast in Shri Vrindavan, greatly blessed in the color of Shyam. Sur says: beholding the beauty of Shyam and Syama, one becomes steeped in the rasa of the ocean of love. ॥३॥
