MEANING
सरस हिंडोरना माई झूले श्रीगोकुलचन्द ॥ध्रुव ॥O mother, Shri Gokulchand swings upon the delightful swing. ॥ध्रुव ॥द्वै खंभ कंचनके मनोहर रतनजटित सुरंग । चार डांडी सरल सुन्दर निरखि लजित अनंग। पटुली पिरोजा लाल लटकत झूमका बहुरंग। मरुवे मानिक चूनी लागी बिच बिच हीरा तरंग ॥१॥The two golden pillars are beautiful and richly set with jewels. The four straight supports are so lovely that even Ananga would feel humbled on seeing them. Turquoise and red ornaments hang from the swing in many colors. The maruva decorations are adorned with rubies and red gemstones, with sparkling diamonds set between them. ॥१॥कल्पद्रुम तरु छाँह सीतल त्रिविध बहत समीर। जहाँ लता लटके भरि कुसुमनि परसि जमुना नीर। हंस मोर चकोर चातक कोकिला अलि कीर। नवल नेह किसोरी राधे नवरंग गिरिधर धीर ॥२॥Under the cool shade of the wish-fulfilling trees, gentle breezes of many kinds are blowing. Creepers filled with flowers hang there, touching the waters of the Yamuna. Swans, peacocks, chakoras, chatakas, cuckoos, bees, and parrots are all present. There is youthful love between Radha, the young maiden, and the steady Giridhar, whose beauty shines in many colors. ॥२॥ललिता विसाखा देत झोंटा रीझि अंग न माई। तहाँ लाडिली सुकुमारी डरपत स्याम उर लपटाई। गौर साँवल अंग मिल दोऊ भये एक ही माई। नील पीत दुकुल राजत दामिनी दुरि जाई ॥३॥Lalita and Vishakha give the swing its pushes, delighted beyond measure. There, the tender and beloved Radha, feeling shy and hesitant, stays close to Shyam. Their fair and dark forms come together and appear as one. Their blue and yellow garments shine so beautifully that even lightning seems to fade away. ॥३॥नव कुंज कुंज झुलाई झुलवति सहचरी चहुँ ओर। मनहुं कुमुदिनी कमल फूले निरखी जुगलकिसोर। व्रजवधु तून तोरि डारती देति प्रान अंकोर। कृष्णदास व्रजवास दीजै नागर नंदकिसोर ॥४॥The companions move the swing from all around through the fresh bowers. Seeing the youthful Divine Couple, it seems as though water-lilies and lotuses have all bloomed. The women of Vraj, completely devoted, offer their very lives in loving service. Krishnadas says, “O charming Nanda-kishor, please grant me residence in Vraj.” ॥४॥
