यह ऋतु आई वर्षन पियविन हीयरा धरकें ॥ घनकी गरज ओर लरज मोरनकी सुनसुन छतियां दरकें ॥१॥The rainy season has come, and without Piya the heart trembles. Hearing again and again the thunder of the clouds and the cries of the peacocks, the heart feels deeply shaken. ॥१॥कोन भांत करूँ केसें धीरज धरूं पियमूरति मेरे हीयमें अरकें ॥ उनकी मिलन रही मेरे मन रोमरोममें भरकें ॥२॥What can I do, and how can I remain patient, when Piya’s form is fixed within my heart? The longing to meet Him fills my mind and every part of my being. ॥२॥तेसीये घटा अंधियारी तेसीये रेनकारी तेसीई पपैया पीऊ पीऊ ररकें ॥ श्रीविट्ठलगिरिधरकी विरहनि निशदिन यह विधि करकें ॥३॥Dark are the clouds, dark is the night, and the papiha keeps calling, “Piyu, piyu.” Thus, in separation from Shri Vitthal Giridhar, she passes her days and nights in this way. ॥३॥
