MEANING
आयो है अबधूत जोगी कन्हैया दिखलावै हो माई ॥ध्रुं॥An Avadhut yogi has come, O mother, asking to be shown Kanhaiya. ॥ध्रुं॥हाथ त्रिशूल दूजे कर डमरु सिंगीनाद बजावै ।जटा जूटमें गंग विराजै गुन मुकुंदके गावै हो माई ॥१॥In one hand he holds a trident, in the other a damaru, and he sounds the horn. The Ganga rests within his mass of matted locks, and he sings the virtues of Mukunda, O mother. ॥१॥भुजंगकौ भूषण भस्म कौ लेपन और सोहै रुंडमाला ।अर्द्धचंद्र ललाट विराजै ओढ़नकों मृगछाला ॥२॥Serpents are his ornaments, his body is smeared with sacred ash, and a garland of skulls adorns him. The crescent moon shines upon his forehead, and he wears a deerskin as his covering. ॥२॥संग सुंदरी परम मनोहर वामभाग इक नारी ।कहै हम आये काशीपुरीतें वृषभ कियें असवारी ॥३॥With him is an exceedingly beautiful woman at his left side. He says, “We have come from the city of Kashi, riding upon a bull.” ॥३॥कहै यशोदा सुनौ सखीयौ इन भीतर जिन लाऔ ।जो माँगे सो दीजो इनकों बालक मती दिखाऔ ॥४॥Yashoda says, “Listen, sakhis, do not bring him inside. Give him whatever he asks for, but do not show him the child.” ॥४॥अंतरयामी सदाशिव जान्यौ रुदन कियौ अति गाढ़ौ ।हाथ फिरावन लाई यशोदा अंतरपट दै आड़ौ ॥५॥The indwelling Lord Sadashiva knew this, and the child began to cry intensely. Yashoda brought Him near so that Sadashiva might pass his hand over Him, while keeping a veil between them. ॥५॥हाथ जोरि शिव स्तुति करतहैं लालन बदन उघारयौ ।सूरदास स्वामी के ऊपर शंकर सर्वस वारयौ ॥६॥With folded hands, Shiva offers praise as the Lala’s face is unveiled. Surdas says: Shankara offers his all to his Lord. ॥६॥
