MEANING
बाला मैं जोगी जस गाया ।धन्य जसुमति तेरे तनकों जिन ऐसा सुत जाया ॥१॥“O young woman, I am a yogi who sings His glory. Blessed is your body, Yashoda, which has given birth to such a son.” ॥1॥गुनन बड़ौ छोटी जिन जानौ अलख पुरुष घर आया ।जाकौ ध्यान धरत हैं मुनिजन निगम खोज नहीं पाया ॥२॥“Know Him to be great in virtues; do not consider Him merely small. The imperceptible Supreme Being has come into your home. The sages meditate upon Him, yet even the Vedas, searching for Him, could not find Him.” ॥2॥जो चाहौ सो लीजियै रावल करौ आपनी दाया ।देहू असीस मेरे या सुतकों बाढ़ै अविचल काया ॥३॥“Whatever you desire, please take, O Raval; show your kindness.” “Give your blessing to this son of mine, that His body may grow strong and enduring.” ॥3॥ना हों लैहों पाट पाटंबर ना लैहों कंचन माया ।अपने सुतकौ दरस दिखावौ जो मोय गुरु नें बताया ॥४॥“I will take neither fine silken cloth nor golden wealth. Show me the darshan of your son, of whom my Guru has told me.” ॥4॥विनती कियें कहति नंदरानी सुनि जोगिनके राया ।देखन न देहुँ तोहि दिगंबर बालक जाय दिठाया ॥५॥Hearing the lord of yogis make this request, Queen Nanda said, “O Digambar, I will not let you see Him; the child may be struck by the evil eye.” ॥5॥जाकी दृष्टि सकल जग ऊपर सो क्यों जाय दिठाया ।अलख पुरुष है मेरा स्वामी सो तैंने भवन छिपाया ॥६॥“How could He upon whom the whole world rests its gaze be struck by the evil eye? My Lord is the imperceptible Supreme Being, and you have hidden Him within the house.” ॥6॥बालकृष्णकों लाय यशोदा करि अंचलकी छाया ।दरसन पाय चरनरज बंदी सिंगी नाद बजाया ॥७॥Yashoda brought Balakrishna, sheltering Him beneath the shade of her veil. Receiving His darshan, the yogi bowed to the dust of His feet and sounded his horn. ॥7॥निरख निरख मुख पंकज लोचन नैनन नीर बहाया ।देखत बनें कहत नहिं आवै नाटिक भला बनाया ॥८॥Gazing again and again upon His lotus face and eyes, tears streamed from the yogi’s eyes. The sight can only be beheld—it cannot be expressed in words; how beautifully He has enacted this play. ॥8॥ठाकुरदास महाप्रभु लीला महादेवलों लाया ।लीला लाल ललित गुन अटक्यो चित्त नहीं चलत चलाया ॥१॥Thakurdas says: Mahaprabhu has brought Mahadev into this lila. His heart has become captivated by the beautiful virtues of beloved Lal in His lila, and even when urged to leave, it cannot move away. ॥9॥
