MEANING
बालकृष्ण जागहु मेरे प्यारे ॥ध्रु.॥O my beloved Balkrishna, please wake up. ॥ध्रु.॥बैठी सेज कहती है जननी । बार बार मुखकमल निहारे ॥१॥Mother sits beside the bed and speaks to Him, again and again gazing at His lotus-face. ॥१॥सुन्यो वचन माता को जब ही । तनिक तनिक दोऊ नैन उघारे ॥२॥As soon as He hears His mother’s words, He slowly opens both His eyes a little. ॥२॥लिये उठाय अंक भरि तब ही ॥ उष्णोदक सों वदन पखारे ॥३॥She immediately lifts Him up and holds Him in her lap, then washes His face with warm water. ॥३॥माखन मिश्री और मलाई । ओट्यो दूध तुम लेहु दुलारे ॥४॥O darling, please take butter, mishri, cream, and freshly boiled milk. ॥४॥विविध भांति पकवान मिठाई । आनन मेल अपुनपो बारे ॥५॥She offers Him many kinds of delicacies and sweets, placing them in His mouth and lovingly offering herself upon Him. ॥५॥मुख पखारि झगुली पहराई । शिर ऊपर चौतनी जब धारे ॥६॥She washes His face, dresses Him in His little jhaguli, and places the chautani upon His head. ॥६॥डोलत अजिर मुदित मनमोहन । 'ब्रजजन' ओट भई जु निहारे ॥७॥Manmohan happily wanders about the courtyard. ‘Brajjan’ watches Him from behind a screen. ॥७॥
