चित दै चितै Chit Dai Chitai
MEANING
चित दै चितै तनुज मुख ओर ।सकुचत शीत भयौ जलरुह तुव कर लकुट निरखि शशि भोर ॥१॥Look attentively toward your son’s face. Seeing the stick in your hand, His lotus-face has shrunk with fear and grown pale like the moon at dawn. ॥१॥सुंदर ललित श्रवत अँसुवन अति अरुन चपल लोचन की कोर ।डारत मानों गंडु सुधा भर विधु मंडलतें उभय चकोर ॥२॥Beautiful tears stream down from the corners of His restless, deeply reddened eyes, as though two chakora birds were pouring nectar-filled drops from the orb of the moon upon His cheeks. ॥२॥अब्जनाल सम मृदुल युगल भुज ऊखल बाँधे दाम कठोर ।मानों भुजंग भीत बँबीसों अरुझि रहे कंचुकी गर जोर ॥३॥His two tender arms, soft as lotus stalks, are bound to the mortar with a harsh rope, it is as though frightened serpents are entangled tightly around a narrow hollow . ॥३॥अनेक रत्न मनि मुक्ता हीरा वारों सुत पर प्रान अकोर ।सूरदास प्रभु सुखद बचन सुनि लजित कहे तब माखन चोर ॥४॥I would offer countless jewels, gems, pearls, diamonds, and my very life upon this son. Hearing these comforting words, Surdas says, Prabhu, the butter thief, then spoke shyly. ॥४॥
