MEANING
गोविंद बारबार मुख जोवै ।कमलनैंन हरि हिलकिन रोवत बंधन छोड़ि यह सोवै ॥१॥Govind looks again and again at your face. Lotus-eyed Hari sobs as He weeps; release Him from His bonds and let Him sleep. ॥१॥जो तेरौ सुत खरौई अचगरौ अपनी कूखि कौ जायौ ।कहा भयौ जो घरकौ लरिका चोरी माखन खायौ ॥२॥After all, He is your own mischievous little son, born from your own womb. What does it matter if the child of the house has stolen and eaten some butter? ॥२॥नई मटुकिया दह्यौ जमायौ देव न पूजन पायौ ।तिहिं घर देव पितर काहेके जिहि घर कान्हर आयौ ॥३॥You set curd in a new little pot, but the deity did not receive its offering. What need is there for other gods or ancestors in the house where Kanhar Himself has come? ॥३॥जाकौ नाम कुठार धारहै यमकी फाँसी काटै ।सो हरि बाँधे प्रेम जेबरी जननी साँट लै डाटै ॥४॥His very Name is a sharp axe that cuts through Yama’s noose. That Hari is bound with the rope of love, while His mother scolds Him with a switch in her hand. ॥४॥परमानंददासकौ ठाकुर करत भक्त मन भाये।देखि दुखि ये सुत कुबेरके लालजू आप बँधाये ॥५॥The Thakur of Paramananddas does whatever pleases the hearts of His devotees. Seeing these sons of Kubera in distress, Lalaju allowed Himself to be bound. ॥५॥
