Their sārīs shimmer and sway. Their eyes are filled with collyrium, and their mouths are reddened with betel. They rejoice and move about joyfully. ॥ One carries musk and agaru in her hand. With her beloved beside her, she applies it upon His chest and arms. She lovingly embraces Giridhar Nāth; the fragrant chovā spreads through His hair and turban. ॥ One applies lotus pollen to His cheeks. Another strings flowers into a garland and places it upon Him. One holds the beautifully adorned Lāl by His waist, as though a blue lotus-stalk has emerged from a tree. ॥ Sandalwood powder and abīr fly in every direction. Śyām’s garment becomes red and yellow with color. There is a great crowd around Subal, while streams of color pour from the pichkārīs. ॥ The Kaustubha jewel flashes upon His wet body. Sandalwood marks cover His entire form. Their eyes become filled with color as they play Holī; seeing this, the mind is drawn toward them like a bee. ॥ From one end of Vraj to the other, the fragrance of sandalwood fills every dwelling. Its sweet fragrance spreads everywhere, and the Beloved’s joyful play is filled with rasa. ॥ One says clearly into Śyāmalāl’s ear, “Color has covered every part of Your body.” Śrīdāmā and the other friends laugh and say, “In Phāgun, we have no fear of anything!” ॥ The beauty of Rati’s Lord is beyond compare.
