MEANING
वंदो पदपंकज नंदलाल ॥ जे भवतारन पूरन कृपाल ॥ध्रु०॥I bow to the lotus feet of Nandalāl, who carries beings across worldly existence and is perfectly compassionate. ॥ध्रु०॥चित चिंतत होत बुधि विसाल ॥ कृपाकरन ओर दीनपाल ॥ सदां वसो मेरे हृदय माय ॥ कुंबर माधुरी चितहि धाय ॥१॥By thinking of Him, the mind becomes filled with great understanding. He shows mercy and protects the helpless. May He always dwell in my heart; the sweetness of the young Prince continually draws my mind toward Him. ॥१॥तिमर हरन सुखकरानंद ॥ मुनिवंदन आनंदकंद ॥ स्याम मुकटमनि कमलनेन ॥ छबि समूहपर लजितमेन ॥२॥He removes darkness and brings happiness and bliss. He is honored by the sages and is the source of joy. Śyām wears a crown-jewel and has lotus-like eyes; His beauty makes even the moon feel ashamed. ॥२॥गोकुलपति गुन नाहिनपार ॥ श्रीनंद सुवन सुमिरों उदार ॥ निगमागम सब ओघसार ॥ सोई वृंदावन प्रगट्यो विहार ॥३॥The virtues of the Lord of Gokul have no limit. I remember the generous son of Shri Nanda. He is the essence of all the Vedas and scriptures; that same Lord has appeared in Vṛndāvan for His divine play. ॥३॥ऋतुवसंत पहलो समाज ॥ तहांतमुदित जुवतिजन सजजुसाज ॥ मुदित चले जहां सूरस्याम ॥ वसंत वधावन नंदधाम ॥४॥It is the first gathering of the spring season. There, the young women joyfully prepare and adorn themselves. Joyfully they go where Sūr’s Śyām is, to welcome spring at Nanda’s home. ॥४॥
