MEANING
ओर राग सब भये बाराती दूल्हे राग बसंत ॥ मदन महोच्छव आज सखिरी बिदा भयौ हेमंत ॥१॥All the other rāgas have become the wedding guests, and Rāga Vasant is the bridegroom. Today, O sakhi, the great festival of Madan is taking place; Hemant has departed. ॥१॥मधुरे सुर कोकिल कल कूजत बोलति मोर हँसत ॥ गावति नारि पंचम सुर ऊँचे जैसें पिक गुनवंत ॥२॥The cuckoo calls sweetly in lovely notes; the peacocks call out and laugh. The women sing aloud in the Pañcama note, like melodious cuckoos. ॥२॥हाथन लई कनक पिचकाई मोहन चाल चलंति ॥ 'कुंभनदास' स्यामा प्यारी कों मिल्यो हे भाँमतो कंत ॥३॥Holding golden pichkārīs in their hands, they move about with Mohan. Kumbhandās says: Śyāmā, the beloved one, has found a charming Beloved. ॥३॥
