Meaning
घटभर दैहो लकुटी तबदेहूं ॥ हमहुं बडेमहरकीबेटी हमतुमसों नाहिं डरेहूं ॥१॥
“Fill my pitcher, and only then will I return your staff. I too am the daughter of a great cowherd chief; I am not afraid of you!” ॥१॥
मेरी कनकलकुटी देरी मैं भरदैहो नीर ॥ बिसरगई सुध तादिनकी तुम हरे सबनके चीर ॥२॥
“Give me my golden staff, dear girl; I will fill your pitcher with water.” “Have you forgotten that day when you took everyone’s clothes?” ॥२॥
यहबानी सुन विवशभई तनकी सुध बिसराई ॥ सूर लकुटकरगिरतन जानी स्याम ठगोरी लाई ॥३॥
Hearing these words, she is overcome and forgets herself. Sur says: she does not even notice the staff slipping from her hand—Shyam has cast his enchanting spell. ॥३॥

ghatabhar daiho lakutee tabadehoon · hamahun bademaharakeebetee hamatumason naahin darehoon ॥1॥
meree kanakalakutee deree main bharadaiho neer · bisaragaee sudh taadinakee tum hare saban-ke cheer ॥2॥
yahabaanee sun vivashabhaee tanakee sudh bisaraaee · soor lakutakaragiratan jaanee syaam thagoree laaee ॥3॥
