MEANING
जमुना जल क्रीडत नंद नंदन ॥ गोपी वृंद मनोहर चहुँदिस मधि अरिष्ट निकंदन ॥१॥Nandanandan sports in the waters of Yamunaji. Charming groups of gopis surround Him on every side, with the destroyer of Arishta in their midst. ॥१॥छिरकति पान परसपर सोभित सिथिल होति भूज चंदन ॥ जनु जुवति पूजति अहि पति कौं लग्यों अंग पें वंदन ॥They sprinkle water upon one another and shine beautifully; their sandal-anointed arms grow relaxed. It appears as though the young women are worshipping the lord of serpents, their arms entwined around His body.कुटिल सुकचि सुदेस अंबुकन चूँबत अग्र अति मंदन ॥ जनु गंडूक कवल रस मुख भरि डारत अलि आनंदन ॥Their beautiful curling locks, wet with water, gently touch at the ends. It appears as though delighted bees, their mouths filled with lotus-nectar, are pouring it forth.दूरि भरि अंक अगाधि चलत लै जनु लुब्धक खग फंदन ॥ 'सूर स्याम' श्रीपति के गुन कों गावत हैं श्रुति छंदन ॥४॥Moving together into the deeper water, He gathers them close around Him, as though birds had come within a hunter’s net. Sur says: the Vedic hymns sing the virtues of Shyam, Shripati. ॥४॥
