MEANING
नंदको मनवांछित दिन आयो ॥ फुलीफिरत यशोदा रोहिनी उरआनंद न समायो ॥१॥The day long desired by Nanda had arrived. Yashoda and Rohini moved about blossoming with joy, unable to contain the happiness in their hearts. ॥१॥गाम गामतें जाति बुलाई मोतिन चोक पुरायो ॥ व्रजवनिता सब मंगल गावत बाजत घोष बधायो ॥२॥People were invited from village after village, and the courtyard was adorned with pearls. All the women of Vraj sang auspicious songs, while sounds of celebration resounded. ॥२॥प्रथम रात्रि यमुनाजल घटभरि अधिवासन करवायो ॥ उठि प्रभात कंचन चोकीधरि तापरलाल बैठायो ॥३॥On the first night, pots were filled with Yamunaji’s water and the preliminary rites were performed. At dawn, a golden seat was placed, and Lal was seated upon it. ॥३॥राजबेठ अभिषेक करतहें विप्रन वेद पढायो ॥ जेष्ठ शुक्ल पूज्यो दिन सुरबधु हरखि फूल वरखायो ॥४॥As the royal consecration was performed, the Brahmins recited the Vedas. On that revered day in the bright half of Jyeshtha, the celestial women joyfully showered flowers. ॥४॥रंगी कोर धोती उपरेना आभूषण सब साज ॥ द्वारकेश आनंद भयो प्रभु नाम धर्यो व्रजराज ॥५॥He was adorned with a dhoti and upper cloth with colored borders, together with all ornaments. Dwarkesh says: there was great joy, and Prabhu was given the name Vrajraj. ॥५॥
