MEANING
जोपै राम रजा हौं पाऊँ ॥न करौं शंक लंक गढ़ की कछु सायर खोद बहाऊँ ॥१॥“If I receive Ram’s command, I shall have no fear of the fortress of Lanka; I shall tear through the ocean and drain it away. ॥१॥बढ़ूँ शरीर पैठ परमित कर सकल कटक पहोंचाऊँ ॥कहौ तौ रावण कुल समेत सब बाँध चरण तर लाऊँ ॥२॥I shall enlarge my body, span the immeasurable expanse, and carry the entire army across. If You command, I shall bind Ravana together with his entire clan and bring them all before Your feet. ॥२॥हौं सेवक हरि ऐसौ कहौ तौ रावण कुल समेत सब बाँध चरण तर लाऊँ ॥३॥Hari, I am such a sevak of Yours—if You command, I shall bind Ravana together with his entire clan and bring them all before Your feet. ॥३॥हौं सेवक हरि ऐसौ तुम्हारौ कहा एक मुख गाऊँ ॥सुर और असुर सबै जुर आवैं तो रण नहिं पीठ दिखाऊँ ॥४॥Hari, I am such a sevak of Yours—how can I recount my devotion with only one mouth? Even if all the devas and asuras gather against me, I shall never turn my back in battle. ॥४॥रावण मारि सिया घर लाऊँ तौ तुमरौ दास कहाऊँ ॥सूरदास प्रभु बिन कीयें कारज मुख नहीं आन दिखाऊँ ॥५॥Only when I have slain Ravana and brought Siya home shall I call myself Your das. Surdas says: “Prabhu, until I have accomplished this task, I shall not show my face before You again.” ॥५॥
